Professor Gerald Casel's new piece for the 6th Annual PUSHFest Dance Festival at ODC Theater in San Francisco will be a radical departure from traditional Western forms of dance. With 10 dancers, Professor Casel will collaboratively build a piece without music, that pushes against the Western notion of productivity. The piece will incorporate Professor Casel's research on racial inequity in the Bay Area contemporary dance world.
