Alina Bokovikova

Lecturer in Design

Alina Bokovikova is an artistically diverse costume designer with more than sixty professional productions for live performances in her portfolio. She has several regional Best Costume Design awards and presented her works at the "Costume Design at the Turn of Century" exhibition in Moscow 2015, Prague Quadrennial 2012, and was featured in "American Theatre Magazine" 2016. Bay Area audience could see her works at California Shakespeare Company, TheatreWorks, Cutting Ball Theatre, Opera San Jose, Opera Parallele... Her regional theatre credits include The Old Globe Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, North Coast Repertory Theatre... Alina Bokovikova has a Master’s Degree in Education from Russia and MFA in Costume Design from UC San Diego; she is a Costume Design Coordinator at Academy of Art University, San Francisco and adjunct faculty at UC Santa Cruz. Currently, she works on two world premieres, “Today It Rains”, a project with Opera Parallele about artist Georgia O’Keeffe and the new full-length opera “If I Were You” with San Francisco Opera Merola Program.
