Chelsea Wells

Non-profit grant writer CHELSEA WELLS graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2013 with a degree in Modern Literary Studies and a minor in Dance. During her time at UCSC, she was honored to work with Ted Warburton on Blueprints, direct Random with a Purpose, intern with Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and participate in the UC District of Columbia Arts Initiative program with Danny Scheie. Since graduating, Chelsea has worked in public relations for performing arts organizations across the country. She was most recently the publicist and publications manager for Jacob’s Pillow Dance in Becket, Massachusetts, where she obtained coverage from major media outlets for its prestigious festival and artistic programming. Currently, she uses her experience in the performing arts as a grant writer in the nonprofit sector, helping arts organizations thrive by securing federal, foundation, and corporate funding for their programs. Chelsea is incredibly grateful for the mentorship she received from Ted both during and after her time at UCSC, which gave her a strong foundation in the arts, knowledge of the national dance landscape, and opened doors in her career.
