virtual presentation - online

Presented by:

Theater Arts Department

Two virtual theatrical performances featuring the students of Shakespeare to Go, directed by Theater Arts lecturer Noah Lucé.

UCSC’s Shakespeare to Go has been taking Shakespeare's plays on the road since 1984, with a mission to connect with local youth and give back to the community. Each year, a team comprised of a faculty director and student actors, designers, stage managers, assistant directors, and dramaturgs from UC Santa Cruz collaborates to bring a Shakespeare play to life by making it relevant to younger audiences. While the new script is shortened, the richness of Shakespeare’s language always remains.

In a typical year, the touring company brings live performances to numerous area schools each spring. This year, due to the pandemic, the program has gone virtual for the first time ever. The company has utilized various virtual platforms to create a unique experience that allows audiences to view the programming from the comfort of their home or office.

Online presentations:
Friday, June 4 at 7:30PM
Saturday, June 5 at 7:30PM (There will be a talkback after the June 5 performance.)
